Cas Psallis explores through drawing, printmaking, and sewing the creation of personal identity, particularly with regard to attachment and multiplicity. They are interested in illustrating through whatever medium is most suitable the relationships between the self and space, self and possessions, self and self, with emphasis on introspection and the affirmation of what one finds important to oneself. Process and material are crucial to each work, and creating in series allows for them to work with a constantly developing visual narrative.
Artistic influences include tarot, anime and manga (most notably Neon Genesis Evangelion and Yu-Gi-Oh!), and the work of Egon Schiele, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and Julie Mehretu.
